The Legend of the Diamond Globe

Blurb

Three fierce warriors are hired to search for and retrieve a lost diamond- a diamond globe reputed to have magical powers for those who have it in their possession. Eri Akari, Cheveyo Cloud, and Adolfo Martino—mercenaries for hire, tired and restless, look to live a simpler life. Lovers and compatriots, one last mission with a large payoff can be just the ticket they need to get out of the business. Fahad Bahar al Menoit walks into their lives in need of help: little does he know that the help he may receive could cost him everything he treasures.

What happens when you mix an eagle, whale and wolf with a sleek panther? Can true happiness be found and what power does the diamond globe truly hold? Is wealth found in a bank account or is true wealth found in the heart?

Adult Excerpt

Fahad lifted his hips and Adolfo slipped the sweat pants down his legs and off. They landed on the floor with a slight swoosh. His cock was suddenly engulfed by the gorgeous Latino as Adolfo swallowed it down to the root. Adolfo’s body, poised between his legs, stretched his inner thighs apart until they burned. Taken by surprise, an unmanly sound escaped from Fahad’s mouth, his body bowing off the mattress. “Oh fuck, that’s so good.”

Adolfo worked his cock, his tongue running up and down the large, underside vein. The small appendage of the Latino’s tongue dipped into his slit. Pre-cum dripped into the man’s mouth as Adolfo laved his cock, his tongue going to task between fucking his slit and sucking the rod.

“That’s just the start,” Eri chimed in as he kneeled on Fahad’s left side. Fahad eyed the man with a wary look, unsure of what he was in for. He didn’t have to wait long to have Eri’s lips sucking on his left nipple while the other hand played with the right one. Eri pinched and tugged on the small nub, and the stimulation ran straight to his cock. The cock was so engorged with blood he didn’t know how Adolfo kept it in his mouth.

“Come on, baby, lift a little for me.” Cheveyo’s voice sounded far away, although the man positioned himself to Fahad’s right. Adolfo’s hands wrapped around his hips and lifted him ever so slightly as Cheveyo placed a small pillow underneath him. The pillow elevated him to just the right height and angle. For what? Fahad thought. Ass exposed, dick in Adolfo’s mouth, and nipples tortured by Eri, Fahad didn’t have to wait long to discover the necessity of the pillow.

A whirlwind of activity took place with Fahad as the centerpiece of action. Adolfo’s mouth never relinquished the sweet torture on his dick as the man repositioned his body to Fahad’s right, switching places with Cheveyo. Fahad’s mind endeavored to catch up with the flurry that surrounded him.

Warm air blew on his taint, and he attempted to close his legs as the large Native American’s frame prohibited the motion. Embarrassment and thrill simultaneously ran through his body, his blood aflame. No one had ever entered his rear entrance, not even Fahad himself. The most daring experimentation he ever did was a slight rub with some lotion to soften the muscle, but he had never penetrated himself. Fahad figured once he did, it would be somewhat like a virgin losing her virginity for the first time when her hymen broke. Yes, Fahad knew that sounded ridiculous, but he desired to save himself for the love of his life, his chosen destiny. In this case, three destinies.

First he felt a warm breath, and then the unimaginable. A tongue swiped across his hole, small, cat-like licks in between warm air. Stimulation became the new game. “No, no, no,” Fahad’s voice repeated as all three men continued to work him like a violinist with her bow. “Oh Allah, please no, don’t stop.”

“Shush, koji, relax and let us make you feel good. This is just to take the edge off. We have all night.” Eri’s lips were red with a slight coating of saliva from sucking on Fahad’s nipple. The man continued to play with his other nipple, a simple tug went straight to Fahad’s balls. “Oh, I think a piercing or two may be in your future.”

“I can’t, please. It’s too much. I’ve never.”

“Then come, koji. Give us your release and pleasure. The first one will be the strongest and then you can relax into the sensation.” Fahad tried to understand the words that came from Eri’s slick, stained mouth, but the tug on his nipple, his cock encased in the warm moist heat of Adolfo’s mouth, and the ass play left him few brain cells to rationalize Eri’s words. He needed release but he felt almost overstimulated, just on the precipice of explosion, but unable to find what he needed to tip the scale. And then it happened. He felt a wetness enter his channel. Not a lubed finger, but something smaller and pointed. Cheveyo’s tongue. The man actually entered his nether region with his tongue. He fucked his ass, in and out, his tongue swiping in a circular motion to stimulate his passageway. It was the catalyst Fahad needed to topple him over. He lifted his hips off the bed as Adolfo held his waist, and his cock drove to the back of Adolfo’s throat.

The final installment of Zeth & Sloane's story is here!

With Lacey missing and everything falling apart, Sloane and Zeth will do everything they can to get her back. If that includes facing off against Charlie Holsan, the DEA, and anyone else who gets in their way, then so be it.

Faced with heartbreak, danger, and the increasing need to protect the ones he loves, Zeth Mayfair is finally realizing what it means to have a family. With her fears coming full circle, Sloane must learn that forgiveness is the only way to move forward.

Review of book:

All too often you find that the final installment in a series will go out with a whimper rather than the bang the author intends.  Have no fear, Collateral, the sixth, and final book in the wildly popular Blood and Roses series not only delivers on the proverbial literary bang, but it leaves you incredibly sad that its all coming to an end. Callie Hart has proven time, and time again that shes got what it takes to craft plots fraught with innuendos, twists, and enough heart in your mouth moments that youll be frantically turning pages, hungry for the next emotionally charged exchange.

Zeth and Sloane are the perfectly imperfect couple; from distinctly opposite sides of the tracks, but well matched in inner strength and sexiness.  One has what the other craves even when theyre not even aware they need it.  Ive loved watching the two of them grow and evolve over the course of the series, but the peril and personal issues both have to overcome in Collateral, make this my favorite of the books.  I felt my heart break for them at times and rejoice in others, my blood pressure skyrocketing with each threat they faced.

Its no surprise that Callie Hart has another winner with Collateral, and I double dog dare you to read it and not be unaffected by her smartly crafted plot and gritty, realistic characters.

A towering cool drink of water with that dangerous cowboy attitude and piercings in all of the best places, Jed Weston has it all.  Except Abigail, who owns the piercing and tattoo shop Jed works in.  Until now he’s made sure that their relationship was always professional in nature – he is her employee after all.  When Abigail seeks solace in his arms to keep her violent past at bay, neither can deny the deep attraction they feel for one another.

Nothing will prevent Jed from loving the woman who sets him on fire with just a look – not her prison bound father, a crazy ex-girlfriend, or an overly nosy reporter – nothing.  In this fairy tale he’ll not only get the girl, he’ll keep her too.

Review:

I was fully ready to love Sinful Southern Ink by S. J. Drum, but unfortunately the tale left me feeling a little short changed.  The story was well executed, but the plot moved so quickly there was no build up which made the passion somehow lackluster.  Going from zero to sixty might get you from the front door to the bedroom, but it doesn’t always equate to heat.  No matter how hard I tried, the connection I wanted to feel for Jed and Abby never developed and I just could not reconcile myself to that.

Ms. Drum had a lot of potential with Sinful that was never realized by this reader.  If she’d invested more into drawing out the plot and the budding relationship between the two main characters then I would have been well satisfied with the story.

Still, if you like a quick romantic read and love the whole Southern heat type of scenery, Sinful Southern Ink might just quench your thirst.

With his special cupcakes and paranormal abilities, Ethan Gallagher was able to attract the man of his dreams.

Baking is Ethan’s passion and he’s renown for his tasty and seemingly magical cupcakes. His dreams become reality when he’s called upon to cater his sweets to a science fiction convention his brother is running.

Callum MacLaughlin is one of the panelists his brother has contracted with for the convention and incidentally also the one Ethan’s been in love and lust with for the last four years. Ethan figures he’s well overdue to let the astrophysicist know just how deep his feelings go, and the con is the ideal setting for it.

His dreams aren’t the only ones coming true with his special sweets – he’s made sure to spread a little of that magic around to his brother and best girl bud as well.

Review:

I’ve never read anything by T. A. Chase, but Ninja Cupcakes was a perfect introduction. I’m not going to lie; initially the title caught my eye and I thought, “I love cupcakes and I think ninjas are cool.” How could I NOT at least give this book a go? I was thrilled with what I found! Smartly written, Cupcakes introduces us to Ethan, a baker with a little secret ingredient of his own. He came across as warm, compassionate and goofy (at times) but utterly sincere in his patient pursuit of Callum, his crush of four years. I thoroughly enjoyed the build-up between the two characters and even more so how they truly seemed to care for one another beyond the heat of passion.

Even though this is a short story I didn’t feel the least bit cheated by its length. Sure, I wanted more; but that’s because I was emotionally invested from page one and wanted to see how the two of them made out further down the line. Heck, I even enjoyed the secondary characters almost as much as Callum and Ethan; to me that’s a quality piece.

If you’re a fan of male/male romance, or even romance in general I would highly recommend Ninja Cupcakes by T. A. Chase. It will satisfy your cravings for something sweet and sexy for sure!

She needs to spend time at the Rocky Mountain House at all costs - because her mother is hiding a horrific secret from Allison and her siblings.

Ranching is hard and dirty work, so is dealing with your stubborn and verbally abusive father. Gabe is doing everything he knows how to keep the ranch afloat and minimize the tension with his father, but when Allison makes him an offer he can’t refuse - he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. She’ll facilitate the development of organic ranching and only wants a small thing in return - Gabe to be her pretend fiancé. Sounds flawless - right? Not as easy as they thought apparently. Night after night of pleasure and the daily stress of their lives makes the couple reevaluate their temporary arrangement and each wonders if what they’re feeling is the real deal.

Facing their uncertain future will take more courage than they know, especially if their feelings are real. Gabe and Allison will have to risk it all to see the return on their romantic investment.

Review:

I’ve had the pleasure of reading Vivian Arend’s paranormal series, and expected that she’d give me everything I was looking for as a reader with Rocky Mountain Angel. I was not only not disappointed, but thrilled that within a few short chapters I was thoroughly hooked! Gabe and Allison were real people to me - they had dreams, disappointments, hurts and most of all, hope for the future. Their struggles didn’t seem contrived to me as a stage for the sex - the plot was well crafted and engaging.

Allison was a strong and compassionate woman. She wanted to take care of those she loved and yet knew she had to be happy herself in order to do just that Gabe was all that and more - he desperately wanted to counteract all of the “bad” he felt he’d done in his life and sometimes went to almost ridiculous levels to accomplish it. Both had their hearts in the right place, just needed a little guidance to stay on the path. I loved that they didn’t hop right into bed with one another - there was a definite buildup and angst involved. When they did though it was hot and sweet and dirty and messy - absolutely perfect for the story.

I haven’t read the other books in the Six Pack Ranch series yet, but I was certainly able to follow this one just fine. Still, I loved Rocky Mountain Angel so much that I’m certainly adding the other installments to my TBR pile. Ms. Arend has done it again!

Publisher’s Blurb:

Cameron Bale is prompted to go to Divination Falls by Spirit and Brother Lightning, and find that the magic filled shifter friendly town has lately been under a dark cloud of sorts.  The local seers hope he’s the perfect person to turn everything around, and Cameron is willing to give it a shot.  Why not?  He’s got nothing else on his plate and he’s sure there’s no one waiting at home for him, which suits him just fine.  A persnickety lupine with to die for eyes, Trace is no stranger to the lone wolf existence, and when Cam sees him, he thinks that maybe they can spend their alone time in the same place.  Of course they have to work that around defeating the evil that has a foothold in Divination Falls, but who’s worried?

Review:

Sommer Marsden is quickly becoming not only one of my go to authors, but one that I actually anticipate her new releases.  Beast In Me, the second installment of her Divination Falls trilogy, is a prime reason why. While I supposed you could read this as a stand-alone story, my OCD mind is screaming that you’ll find it so much more entertaining if you start with the previous book.  Sure it's a paranormal tale with some of the hottest sex I've read in a long time, but it's also a love story between two lonely men that through no fault of their own have braved circumstances that might have done in a weaker person.

Beast opens with Cameron running for all he's worth all the while being herded along by jolts sent by "Brother Lightning", ending up literally in Tryg and Luke's backyard and interrupting an intimate moment between the two.  After some suspicion on the part of Tryg, they recognize that he’s been called to their town to battle the evil that we saw manifest itself in the first installment of the series.  Cam is given a place to stay at the rectory with the local priest (who also happens to be a jackal) and encounters the most stunning and compelling man he’s ever come across.   One that makes him miss being able to have a relationship without the fear of shocking his partner – literally.  Trace is more than attracted to Cam, but has secrets of his own that make him continuously try to keep Cam at arms’ length.

I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that I was alternately fanning myself and reaching for the tissues.  These two had baggage that no matter how out of the ordinary they might have seemed, really tore at my heart.  They were lonely, and while they’d seemed to accept it in some fashion as the “way it is”, it didn’t stop them from trying to work it through anyway.  I think that’s what I like most about Ms. Marsden – she has an innate ability to take the most out of the norm situations and make you suspend your belief without you even being aware of it.  I instantly felt connected to Cam and Trace; I rooted for them to open up to one another and even wanted to smack them when the pair were being stubborn.  I absolutely loved Beast in Me by Sommer Marsden and I can’t wait for the third installment of the Divination Falls series!

Book Blurb:

As the muscle for his pride, Tryg Avondale’s particular skills are called upon to track down two missing teenagers.  He’s under no illusions – this job is a way for him to experience a break from the unforgiving attitude the pride has towards his preference in sexual partner.  He’s a lion and gay, something the pride, who’s huge on procreation, isn’t too keen on.

Along for the road trip is one sweet looking empath by the name of Luke Dorchester.  He seems to sooth the savage beast in Tryg, while heating up the sheets in ways that the lion shifter has never known.  Tryg is determined not to look into the attachment he feels with his new lover, but he’s just as convinced he cannot and will not let him go when the trip is over.   A lusty adventure from nature’s camp grounds to out of the way motel rooms follows as they race to locate the missing shifters.  Their journey find themselves in an “other” friendly place none of the locals really know about, Divination Falls.  There they confront a deep, dark evil that threatens not only the townspeople but also the growing love between Luke and Tryg.

Review:

The first book in the Divination Falls Trilogy, Lion Hearted by Sommer Marsden is a hit right out of the gate.  A plot full of suspense, sex, and romance between two unlikely men kept me on the edge of my seat with a glass of ice water at the ready.  Yes, it was THAT hot.  I appreciated how the author took two men who were essentially outcasts from their respective peer groups and showed how with a little love and understanding, anything was possible.  The relationship seemed to form easily, but not so much so that I found it a leap.  Both Luke and Tryg were lonelier than each realized, denied the loving touch of those that should accept them not because of who they loved, but just because.  The fact that Tryg would still be loyal and dedicated enough to track down a couple of abducted pride members, even after knowing how unaccepting they were overall, speaks well to his character.  Was he perfect? Oh god, no.  He yelled a lot and made assumptions based on past events, but Luke faced each with a quiet calm that you just had to admire.

I’d never read anything by the author prior to this book but I’ll be honest – I can’t wait for the second installment of the trilogy to be released (hopefully it will be Sam and Eliot’s story!).  In the meantime if you like strong male alpha types with a soft heart, hot sex and a good dose of heart stopping suspense, I highly recommend Lion Hearted by Sommer Marsden!

Review:

I’ve never read a serial story before, and I was concerned that I'd hate waiting for each piece to be released. I shouldn't have worried; whether read in its separate parts or as a whole, The Professional by Kresley Cole is everything I knew I wanted in a book, and a ton of other things I had no idea I'd like so much. The gritty, action packed, and intensely sexual plot was much more graphic than what I'm used to by Ms. Cole, but she carries it off so easily, you'd think that it was her norm. Coupled with characters that you love (Natalie), and love to hate (because you don't want to love them - Sevastyan), there was no way that I couldn't love it.

Natalie is the girl we all want to be like. She's working full time to pay for college and earn her elusive PhD, and in spite of not knowing who her father is, she seems to be well adjusted and well liked by her friends. Not having a lot of free time to date though has left her lonely - when she can spare a moment to think about it. Natalie has also paid an investigator to try and locate her father, using DNA sampling, and is panicked because she hasn't received any response from him. Putting that to the back of her mind for a night, she hits the local bar with her friends and they make a game of her observation skills to gague potential dates. Not one to find the local offerings interesting enough to sample, she's suddenly drawn to a darkly mysterious man at the bar. Meeting Aleksandr "The Siberian" Sevastyan changed Natalie in ways she couldn't fathom at the time, and it's quickly apparent that the attraction went both ways. Suddenly, she not only knows who her father is, she's become embroiled in the world according to the Russian Mafia. "The Siberian" is no ordinary guy; he is her father's right hand man, his lead enforcer, and more complicated than a Rubik's cube after a sleepless night.

The chemistry that Sevastyan and Natalie have just jumps off of the page and grabs you by the throat. The enforcer knows that he has no business being so enamored of the boss's daughter, but he just can't seem to stay away. Natalie came across a little naive at times, which is understandable considering the culture shock she had to be experiencing, but I think it was instrumental in breaking down Sevastyan's defenses. It was refreshing that she didn't inherently "get it" all at once - her vulnerability lent realism to her character.

I don't want to give any more of the plot away, but I will say this; if you don't like your reading to be liberally sprinkled with dirty, kinky sex, then these serials are probably not for you. Let me repeat, The Professional is a much different feel than Kresely's Immortals After Dark series, though liking one certainly won't preclude you from enjoying the other. I'm living proof of that. I thoroughly enjoyed them both, but for very different reasons. If you don't mind having to fan yourself constantly over scorching set the bed on fire sex, and love an emotional plot packed with twists and turns, then I would definitely recommend that you pick up all three serial installments of The Professional by Kresley Cole. The author will be making all three parts available as one volume in the future, but I'm confident that you won't want to wait that long to figure out what all the fuss is about.

Sloane

How many times can a person fall down and still get back up? How many times can things go wrong before you just give up?

I’ve lost everything. My home, my job, my purpose in life—everything has been turned upside down. But while life hasn’t exactly turned out the way I would have liked it to, I wouldn’t change a thing. If things were different, I wouldn’t have Lacey. I wouldn’t have Michael.

But most importantly, I wouldn’t have him.

I’ve realized what I feel. He knew it before I did. Only one question remains:

Is he capable of feeling the same way?

Zeth

Secrets are a prison, and I have been behind bars for years. Sloane Romera has been turning keys in all of my locks, throwing light on corners of my mind that I thought would forever be shrouded in darkness. Or at least I had hoped would be.

I have done so many wrongs in this life, and yet this woman has forgiven me. She’s done something I never thought possible—she has learned to understand me, and she hasn’t run. She’s amazed me. She’s saved me. She’s fallen in love with me.

If it’s within my power, I’m about to do the same for her.

Review of book:

You know those books that make you feel good about life, that all is right with the world?  Yeah, this isn't that kind of story.  Twisted, the fifth installment in Callie Hart's Blood and Roses series is as far from feel good as you can get.

And it kicks ass.

I'm being completely serious.  I picked up the first book in the series, Deviant, as a "what the heck" moment.  I like to expose myself to new to me authors, and the plot sounded like it it would be a departure from some of the more romantically themed pieces I'd been reading.  I couldn't put the darn thing down.  I continued to pick up the later installments (Fracture, Burn, and Fallen), convinced that I couldn't possibly like them as much.

Boy, was I wrong.  In fact, I've finally had to admit to myself that I've not only added Callie Hart to my automatic go to author list, I might be more than a little obsessed with Sloane Romera and Zeth Mayfair.

Twisted is a story that is, in my mind, equally character and plot driven, which isn't something I find often - and I read a lot.  It's dark and it's raw - gutting you without so much as a look back to see if you're okay - and it was absolutely riveting.   And yeah, more than a little dirty.  Not the kind of dirty that makes you want to find a bar of soap either.  Zeth is at first glance, the anti-hero.  He's on the wrong side of the law, appears emotionally shut off, and violent at the drop of a hat.  Basically the type of guy that will never put the cap back on the milk, and leaves the toilet seat up.  He's also loyal, sexy, smart as a whip (or, if you're from Massachusetts, wicked smaht), and is very emotional - if you know what his tells are.  Sloane is no shrinking violet either, and a perfect match for whatever Zeth dishes out.  Even when they clash, they fit better than some of the most romantic couples I've seen, because they're REAL.  She's given up most, if not all, of her well planned out life to be a part of Zeth's world, and she's not only okay with it, she’s convinced that she's got the better end of the deal.  Sloane has her moments when she's vulnerable, and that made her even more likable to me.  In fact, when I grow up, I want to be Sloane Rivera. (I also want Zeth as my guy, but I think that goes without saying.)

Ms. Hart put together a plot that hooks you from the first word, and slams you into a brick wall at the last.  You’ll never see it coming, but man does that pain feel so good! There's plenty of action and suspense to be had, as well as some major surprises along the way that I could have never anticipated. Twisted was everything I'd hoped it would be, and much, much more.

And for the record, I don't care one bit if Zeth leaves my toilet seat up and never puts the cap back on the milk, as long as that man is in my immediate geographic location.

Feeling the economic crunch when the real estate market falls, Rebecca is left to carry on after her husband decides it’s all too much for him to handle.  Her sister offers a place for both she and her son to live while she attempts to figure out how to put her life back together again.  Rescuing her from a horrible rainstorm, her attractive neighbor awakens feelings that she was positive were long gone.
Having a way with words and his hands means Jack, an aspiring author offers his enchanting neighbor a passionate feast of the heart and mind, opening her eyes to whatcould be.  The love letters they exchange and their stolen afternoons of passion have her as confused as much as she looks forward to them.  How can Rebecca give herself fully to their relationship and help her son through this difficult time as long as she considers herself “another man’s wife”?

Wow.  Yes, just wow.  Another Man’s Wife was not the most explicitly written piece I’ve ever read, but certainly one of the best.  Cindy Jacks approach to the story – using the love letters that Jack and Rebecca exchanged as the meat of the plot was brilliant and tugged at my heart.  I found myself looking forward to each poignantly composed note as much as I did the passionate interludes they shared.  Ms. Jacks tore my heart out with her emotional and turbulent portrayal of Rebecca, who as much as she was angry and hurt, still had the capacity to allow herself to love even after the betrayal of her husband.  Jack’s conflicting emotions with showing “too much, too soon” had me nodding my head in agreement – I could literally feel his struggle to be open and loving to Rebecca while allowing her the time she needed to see herself as much more than “Another Man’s Wife”.  Predictably, her husband makes an appearance and I couldn’t help but wonder why he ever thought that running out on his wife and son was anything but supremely selfish, but thought the author handled in a fairly realistic way.  I literally cried at more than one point during the story and that’s not something I’ll often do, and admit to it even less.
If you are in the mood for a passionate love story that will have you reaching for the tissues as well as fanning yourself, this story is the one you want to pick up – it’s THAT good.

All For You by Dana Marie Bell

Rating: 4 lips (Birds)
Heat: 1 pepper (M/F, Oral Sex, Adult Language)
Series:  The Nephilim, Book One

Something creepy is stalking Abby Marcheson and its freaking her out in a major way.  She’s glad Seth is around to keep an eye on her.  He might be her brother’s hot friend, but when his protection turns into a possible romantic relationship, she’s completely on board.
Unfortunately all is not what it seems where Seth is concerned.  As a descendent of Angels, this nephilim is charged with hunting the nepharious angelic offspring called the Shemayza.  He’s been hiding his true nature from Abby hoping that he can ease into telling exactlywhat he is gently.  However all bets are off when Seth realizes Abby’s horrific stalker may just be one of the evil angelic host.
Passion explodes between Abby and Seth, making it more and more difficult for him to keep the secret of his ancestry – and he wants to come clean to her badly.  Could she look past the heavenly wings and still see Seth as he truly is – the angel who loves her – or will she go on the run and risk being captured by the very being that desires her demise?
I truly wasn’t sure what to expect with All For You by Dana Marie Bell.  The first book in her Nephilim series, the tone wasn’t as humorous as her Halle Shifters or as tantalizingly hot as the Gray Court series, but man did this one sneak up on me! She gave the Nephilim hunters real “day jobs”, families, meddling human friends and I was a goner.  I loved that Seth didn’t have all of the answers – his struggle to figure out where he stood with Abby was so refreshing.  Not that I mind a self-assured alpha male – I certainly do.  Seeing Sethas frustrated as she was at times really made me buy in to the plot.  There was no sense of elitism – these angelic beings cared for and protected humans without the superiority complex. It was refreshing to not read a story where the “mere humans” had to prove themselves worthy of the hero.
I thought Abby’s character was realistically portrayed.  She’d been abused and terrorized by a former boyfriend and was still working through some deep psychological scars.  Her life wasn’t neatly packaged and her issues weren’t completely resolved in this book – I liked that.  In real life you wouldn’t necessarily be able to work through something so traumatic in a few years, and Ms. Bell created Abby in such a way that I was angry for her.  I wanted her to be strong, stand up to her personal boogey man and kick him to the curb.  She didn’t disappoint me one bit.
All For You by Dana Marie Bell has a little bit of everything – some good loving, skillful suspense, heart pounding action, and a whole lot of vulnerability.  That added up to a great beginning to a series I’ll certainly be keeping my eyes open for the next installment!

Book Blurb:
Having a man-free and ripple-free existence was the first step in Hayley Christopher’s plan to get her priorities back in order.
Former professional cheerleader, recent divorcee, and one semester shy of her degree, she struggles with being a temporary guardian to her nephew,Fletcher.  Convinced that she’s falling short on the maternal scale and barely making it through the day. Running into her high school crush and now landlord, Ray, only complicates her life and makes her wonder if she’s in some sort of negative karmic loop.
Ray Braddock is still healing from his wife’s untimely death and is definitely not looking to become involved on any level with anyone at this point in his life. In spite of all of their past hurts and betrayals, the three of them seem to make each other whole in ways they don’t yet fully understand.
Hayley’s find her heart warming to Ray’s growing connection with Fletcher, and knows that he’s one of the “good ones” that she needs to hang on to.  However when Fletcher’s father’s determination to make her pay - violently - for what he sees as interference in his business, she realizes that everything she’s worked so hard for could be in jeopardy...

Body of the review:
A Forever Kind of Guy by Barbara Meyers was an emotional, heart pounding, feel good type of romance.  Having been a temporary guardian in the past, I could really identify with Hayley’s inadequacy issues and found myself getting teary over Fletcher’s struggle to be heard without his voice.  I thought Ray’s ability to connect with him using actions over words was brilliant; making Fletcher a priority without the little boy feeling like he was “out of the norm.”  While the sex was portrayed in a more romantic fashion my heart still pounded with anticipation every time the hero and heroine met.  I wanted them so badly to seal the deal, but loved the suspenseful way Ms. Meyers went about it as much as when it happened.  These characters were definitely three dimensional - they could be MY neighbors and friends.  Their goals, hurts and struggles could have very well been my own.  I was so impressed with the depth in this piece that I’m absolutely going to backtrack and read the first book in this series - I’m hooked on the Braddocks!

More often than not, Nathan feels left out.  No one he’s met seems to be enamored of cheesy horror genre movies, tattoos and loud, pounding music quite the way he is and that makes it really tough to get a date, never mind have the time to get comfortable with someone he’s interested in.
Doing a favor for a friend of his during his off day has all sorts of advantages he didn’t consider.  A tall, dark and handsome stranger who from all accounts enjoys the same quirkyzombie filled B movie goodness he does.  Can he get himself under control log enough to go on an actual date or will he face disappointment yet again?

A Bar Tender Tale was an interesting read by an author I hadn’t been exposed to previously.  Witty, humorous and believe it or not action packed, Melanie Tushmoreachieved the right balance between “plot and hot” to make it difficult for me to put it down.  Nathan is a loveable guy; he’s not afraid to be who he is and yet he’s charmingly vulnerable when it comes to finding the “right” guy. His equally quirky band of friends had me giggling at their antics, making them the perfect supporting cast.   My only gripe with the story is that his love interest, Auryn seems to be a little unconvincing in his “I want to wait” line of thinking and it got old, fast.  I was glad to see the two guys break through their emotional barriers and heat it up finally, and it was worth the wait.   I look forward to watching this author grow and share her creativity in the future and I think this was a solid first look at her!

Victoria Edison made her way west hoping to escape her less than proper upbringing, but when she’s forced to marry for propriety’s sake after spending three nights alone with 3 men on the J Bar C Ranch, she feels anything but.
Reluctantly agreeing to marry Victoria because his partners have taken to her, Jed Adams figures that it doesn’t hurt that the stubborn woman can cook and keep house too.  Just as the four of them are settling in to their life together, a vindictive businessman has their marriage annulled; making it a real possibility that Victoria will lose any respectability she’s gained.  Jed, Clint, and Riley will lose the woman they’ve come to love and rely on unless she remarries Jed in front of a preacher. Unlikely to happen as he’ll have nothing to do withpreachers due to his tortuous upbringing with a deceitful bible thumping father.
Will the quartet be able to preserve the love they’ve found while Victoria and Jed face their own personal demons?
1 Bed, 2 Weddings, 3 Husbands by Reece Butler is the fifth book in the Bride Train Series, and while it references characters introduced in previous books it’s a story that can certainly stand alone.  The plot centers on Victoria Edison, her three husbands, Jed, Clint, and Riley, and the challenges they face because of their difficult pasts and non-traditional relationship.  I found Victoria’s insistence that she be perceived as proper and respectable in others’ eyes a bit monotonous and unnecessary; she’s living in Tanner’s Ford where polyamory seems to be somewhat commonplace.  However, the willingness she shows in loving and creating a true home for the three men was touching, even in spite of Jed’s insistence that she was not what he wanted in a wife.  Clint and Riley offset Jed’s initial distance with love and a lot of physical affection (beyond the sexual) and I think that made the plot meatier.
The four of them certainly burn up the sheets (and a few other places in the old homestead), sometimes in ways I didn’t expect.  I thought it was interesting that the author took the time to create certain sexual/physical preferences with each of the men, and that no matter how hot they got, there was always a tender, yearning element to their bed play.  They truly cared about each other both in and out of the bedroom.
1 Bed, 2 Weddings, 3 Husbands was as much a tale about facing personal demons as it was about exploring and owning your sexuality in spite of societal norms present at the time the story is set.  If you love a tough rancher who’s tender when it counts (times three!) I think you’ll enjoy this book.

The man that came home from war wrestling his demons isn’t necessarily the one she remembered as the man of her dreams.

For as long as she can remember, Melanie Roberts has been deeply in love with her best friend.  They took a chance on being lovers in the past but because of their tortured past she’s firmly and mentally placed herself in the “best friend and roommate” category.  The night before he’s to return from his Iraqi deployment, she decides that they’ll have one last night of passion before she moves on with her life.

As Cade Nicholson comes home with a body and soul battered and scarred by his most recent deployment, he’s come to the decision that all he wants is to heal his wounds in Melanie’s arms.  Filled with trepidation at having to bare it all to the woman he loves, he struggles with finding the words that will truly express how he feels about her.

Is it too late for two friends to bravely come together in love, healing their hearts, or will past hurts and insecurities destroy everything between them?

You’ll Think of Me was my first glimpse at Wendi Zwaduk’s work and it won’t be the last.  She’s done a superb job revealing the emotional scars that our service men and women experience while fulfilling the call of duty, and how their loved ones struggle to support them.  Cade was flawed – he had extreme difficulties expressing himself emotionally to the one person he really needed to which is hard enough for any man without the complication of PTSD.  Melanie was compassionate and supportive, and at first thought that she was not as strong a woman as she could have been.  She hung around and remained friends with Cade even after a painful break up, relegating herself to a “friend with benefits” type of arrangement.  She did “keep the home fires burning” but at the same time made plans to live her life separate from Cade,  after coming to the realization that her life was becoming stagnant.

There was plenty of emotional dysfunction between the couple – they tended to use sex as a diversionary tactic rather than talk about the issues facing them – but darn was it hot!  There was an added bonus of Cade’s friend Rhett who came home on leave, to add a little splice and help air out the differences the couple experienced.

You’ll Think of Me is a short read, full of love, angst and passion – well done Ms.Zwaduk!
